On 15 August, the plant achieved six-years of operations without any serious injury that prevents a person from returning to work.
Alyssa Warner, PNG LNG Plant Asset Manager, said this significant milestone reflects the performance of our world-class workforce and business partners.
“Six-years without an LTI is an incredible achievement involving thousands of workers from across Papua New Guinea and the world coming together, working as one team, and returning home again safely – with no work missed due to injury,” she said.
“We’re not done yet. We remain committed and relentless on our safety journey to realise our vision of ‘Nobody Gets Hurt’.”
Within this LTI milestone, multiple teams have long records without first aid treatments, medical treatments, or work restrictions, including the Marine Terminal team who achieved five-years without a Recordable Incident and the LNG Plant Warehouse team who worked for six-years without a single worker hurt.
Andrew Barry, Managing Director at ExxonMobil PNG, said this achievement is a testament to our safety philosophy and the dedication our workforce and business partners have in preventing all incidents that can cause harm.

“Our safety and performance recognition programs, including daily toolbox meetings where teams discuss key activities, updates, and celebrate success, encourages everybody to speak their minds and not shy away from difficult discussions.”
