SAUDI Stock Exchange-listed Red Sea Housing Services (RSHS) has already won some significant contracts in Papua New Guinea and is confident it will continue to do so with the growing PNG resources boom.
A provider of high quality modular living and working environments, with significant experience in providing industrial housing products and services in remote and urban locations across the world for over 4 four decades, RSHS has cemented a strong reputation for designing, planning, producing, managing, leasing, and operating housing solutions.
Working in more than 65 countries, RSHS sets up the infrastructure and facilities required for global companies to construct high quality, reliable, durable and tailored modular buildings, and housing units, including hotels, offices, accommodation units, utility services, telecommunications networks, catering and recreation facilities, from its manufacturing facilities in Saudi, UAE, Ghana, PNG, and Malaysia.
These prefabricated buildings are deployed – on a large scale, to tight deadlines – in remote, rugged areas over long periods of time. Through its main subsidiaries, it provides civil contracting for commercial and residential buildings; offers real estate property investment and development; production of paints, coatings and construction machinery and equipment; and repair and maintenance services.
Some of the projects RSHS have been involved with in Papua New Guinea include accommodation buildings at the POMTECH facility, a 9600 man camp at ExxonMobil LNG, housing for the local police force, barracks, offices and facilities buildings for the Australian Federal Police, at Bougainville Airport, the Manus Island Detention Centre and many others – both within PNG and its neighbours.
Other activities that RSHS is keenly active in include supporting the local community through philanthropic undertakings such as the Porebada Community Hall, Boera Health Post, working with the Missionaries of Charity sisters, donation of beds to local communities, sponsorship of a Baruni Rugby League team and the BRLA Grand Final.
Recently RSHS attended the PNG Industrial and Mining Resources Exhibition 2016 held at John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby. This opportunity provided it with a forum to engage with mining companies to better understand their needs and show oits capabilities.
RSHS hosted a special meet and greet night before the Expo where guests were able the network and meet others in the mining resources sector. The Expo was a success for RSHS, with some good contacts made and opportunities identified.
Red Sea Housing Services commenced operations in PNG in 2009 and currently employ around 150 staff with warehouse and fabrication facilities located in Baruni.
