PAPUA New Guinea representatives promoted PNG’s tourism profile at the International Tourismus-Börse Asia trade show held in Singapore in October.
ITB Asia facilitates an opportunity for travel companies, organisations and small to medium enterprises in Asia and the Pacific to meet with international buyers.
PNG was represented by Joel Keimelo from the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority, Lydia Kwong of Air Niugini and Freda Felihau the third secretary to the PNG High Commission in Singapore.
PNG representatives reported an increasing level of interest for PNG by many participants, a promising indication of growth for tourism in the country.
“ITB is an ideal opportunity for PNG to tap into the flourishing Asian travel market by connecting with potential international travel agents and wholesalers who are interested or willing to market PNG as a travel destination and provide a valuable link to our tourism industry members,” Mr Keimelo said.
ITB Asia is one of Asia’s biggest annual travel trade conventions, attracting more than 8,000 participants from over 90 countries.
