Papua New Guinean’s National Oil and Gas Company (NOC) Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) has come on board as the Major Sponsor of the 7th National Literacy Award organised by Crocodile Prize Organization. The sponsorship award of K10, 000 is given in recognition of emerging Papua New Guinean writers.

KHPL’s Social Inclusion Committee deputy chairperson Ms Mary Gigmai while presenting the cheque on behalf of the company said, this donation is part of the Social Inclusion Program that focus on areas of education development.

She added that most NGOs play a key role in the lives of Papua New Guineans by educating and developing their talents similar to what Crocodile Prizing Organization is doing.

The Director for Crocodile Prizing Organization, Emmanuel Peni while receiving the cheque appreciated and acknowledged KPHL for coming on board as major sponsor. Mr Peni said the financial support makes it possible for a prize to be awarded together with a commemorative trophy and guaranteed publication for the winner of this year’s national literacy competition.
