PNG RESOURCES’ advertising and marketing assistant Felix Koma has been recognised for his years of service to community, church and business groups in the Port Moresby South electorate.
Mr Koma was presented with an award in recognition of his selfless contribution by Member for Port Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko as part of national celebrations marking Papua New Guinea’s 40 years of independence late last year.
The honours brought together individuals of all walks of life – from the midst of the settlements, in high office and among leaders in the Motu Koitabu villages.
There were individuals selected from each village and community, as well as the arenas of sport, church and public office – each of which made nominations to a panel of judges who in turn prepared the final list.
Mr Koma was recognised for his contribution to law and order, business development and politics as well as community and church service for over 30 years, through his work with the Fanima Goilala community.
The awards identified many outstanding leaders who have contributed without resources and incentives to Papua New Guinea’s development while the country was emerging from the colonial era.
